i got 9/10 and was fooled by the British killers. So happy to see the SNOBOL dude in there. SNOBOL was one of the first string processing languages.

Woo Hoo! 10 of 10! And I’m not even a programmer. However, I had read about the Brit Serial Killer, about the Son of Sam, and about “the Soviet Hannibal Lecter” (apparently his Party connections kept him safe until the USSR collapsed, then he was finally taken out and shot)
